Thank you for your question. To be honest, creating a template is not as difficult as people make it out to be. All you are doing is creating a document that you want to use over and over again. The only difference is that you are going to save it in a different way from your normal documents.
After you have created your document and are happy with the final version move your mouse to the word FILE, then select the option SAVE AS. A new window will appear, look at the bottom of the window where you will see the option SAVE AS TYPE. From here select the drop down box and then select the option DOCUMENT TEMPLATE (*.DOT).
You can then save your new template on your computer. Next time you open word you can then use your template in the knowledge that you can not damage the document. If you do make a mistake using the template you are able to discard the document and start again.
